Auction will begin to close in __ days and __ hours

Start price: £2

Buyer's Premium:

This vintage Bentwood portable sewing machine in a  wooden case is an oak dome-top cover for a portable sewing machine, dating from the early to mid-20th century. The piece is constructed with a curved front panel, likely of bentwood or veneer, showcasing a figured oak grain throughout. The design is utilitarian, featuring dark metal hardware components at the lower edge which serve as attachment points. Two adhesive stickers are adhered to the front face: an orange label with handwritten numerals 575 and a white printed label reading 20 20.

Condition report:

The item displays significant surface wear consistent with age and utility. There are extensive scratches, scuffs, and areas of finish loss across the exterior. The flat top section exhibits prominent water-damaged bloom and staining. A distinct vertical white mark is visible on the lower-left curved panel. The metal hardware shows signs of age-related oxidisation.
