Lot 480: A Collection of Decorative Ceramic Items Including a Lefton Accordion Player Figurine and Manchester United Memorabilia
This collection comprises a variety of decorative ceramic wares and sports memorabilia. The primary item is a Lefton ceramic figurine depicting an elderly man in a floppy hat and green trousers seated on a rustic bench playing an accordion with multi-coloured bellows, accompanied by a small black and white dog. The lot includes a white glazed ceramic potpourri jar or lidded bowl featuring intricate reticulated lattice-work on both the body and the domed lid, finished with two integral handles and a scalloped base. Also present is a ceramic plate with a wavy yellow-painted rim and relief-moulded strawberry and leaf decoration. The assortment further contains a small black glazed ceramic figurine depicting a stylized group of figures and a carded Manchester United Football Club souvenir featuring the club crest on a red background, housed in its original plastic packaging.
Condition report:
The accordion player figurine shows visible paint loss and small chips to the front and rear edges of the hat brim. All ceramic items exhibit general surface dust consistent with storage. The delicate lattice-work on the reticulated lidded bowl appears intact with no visible losses or cracks. The strawberry plate shows minor surface wear from handling. The Manchester United item remains unopened, though the card packaging displays some shelf wear. The items are stored together in a plastic bin which may cause minor surface abrasions.
