Timed sale of unsold lots
This lot comprises a pair of fine bone china conical coffee cans from the Royal Worcester Connoisseur Collection. These items were produced in 2000 to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the Royal Worcester factory (1751-2001), featuring reproductions of patterns originally designed circa 1930. The cans exhibit a distinctive Art Deco V-shape form characterized by a solid, flat-sided triangular handle and a gilded, pointed base. The first can is decorated in the Blue Lagoon pattern, which features a stylized landscape of trees and mountains in turquoise, green, and black with gilded highlights. The second can features the Morning River pattern, consisting of a black and gold silhouette landscape set against a graduated orange sky with a stylized bridge detail. The base of each cup bears a comprehensive black printed backstamp including the Connoisseur Collection script, the Royal Worcester crest with the number 51, pattern names, and the commemorative dates 1751-2001. The Blue Lagoon can also retains a small white paper inspection label.
Condition report:
Both items are in excellent condition with no visible chips, cracks, or crazing to the ceramic. The gilded highlights on the handles and the pointed bases remain bright and show no significant signs of wear. There are orange lot or price stickers adhered to the side of the Blue Lagoon cup which will require careful removal.
