Lot 202: A Pair of Royal Worcester Fine Bone China Romeo and Juliet Figurines
A pair of Royal Worcester fine bone china half-length figurines from The Connoisseur Collection, depicting the Shakespearean characters Romeo and Juliet. Each piece is decorated with polychrome glazes and gilded highlights. The Romeo figure is depicted wearing a maroon tunic with gold-coloured trim, a green cap, and has reddish-brown hair. The Juliet figure is shown in a white gown featuring a gilded cross pendant and chain, with a pink head covering and long brown hair. Both figurines feature a pink printed backstamp on the underside which includes the Royal Worcester crown and crest mark, Fine Bone China, Made in England, and the series title The Connoisseur Collection. The marks also include a copyright date of 1989 and the specific model names Romeo and Juliet. The Juliet figurine also bears a small hand-painted brown M mark to the foot rim.
Condition report:
Both figurines are in excellent condition with no visible chips, cracks, or signs of restoration. There is some minor surface dust and adhesive residue from orange price stickers on the exterior.
