Timed sale of unsold lots
A two-handled earthenware cream soup bowl and matching circular saucer manufactured by Copeland Spode. The items are decorated in the Chinese Rose pattern, featuring transfer-printed and hand-coloured floral sprays in shades of blue, pink, and brown against an off-white ground. The design includes a decorative border with a brown hexagonal lattice pattern and a green-painted line to the rims and handles. The base of the saucer bears printed marks in brown: COPELAND, a rectangular device containing the word SPODE, ENGLAND, Rd No 629599, and the pattern name CHINESE ROSE. A green-painted number 11 is also present on the base. The registration number 629599 indicates the design was first registered circa 1913.
