Lot 55: A Pair of Cast Resin Folk Art Style Figurines
A pair of decorative folk-art style figurines, cast in a composite resin material with a dark reddish-brown finish designed to simulate carved wood. The first figure depicts a seated male shepherd wearing a soft cap and neckerchief, positioned next to a sheep and holding a bundle of cream-coloured natural wool or fibre. The second figure is a standing male in a wide-brimmed hat and heavy cloak, carrying a bundle under his right arm. Both items are set on integral textured bases. An orange adhesive tag marked 5.5 is present on the shepherd’s hat, with a similar sticker on the base of the standing figure. No factory marks or signatures are visible.
Condition report:
The figurines appear in good condition with surface dust present throughout. There is minor rubbing to the finish on prominent edges. The applied wool on the shepherd figure exhibits some age-related discolouration and matting.
