Lot 730: Edwardian Autograph and Scrap Album Relating to Lidget Green Bradford Dated 1911

Buyer's Premium:

An early 20th-century autograph and scrap album, dated 1911. The album is bound in textured grey cloth with the word Autographs embossed in gold-coloured script on the front board. Internal content includes period handwritten entries and original photography. A left-hand page features a handwritten four-line poem signed Rex and dated 1911. The right-hand page contains an original black and white group photograph of eighteen schoolgirls, captioned Some old Lidget Green scholars. Lidget Green is a district in Bradford, West Yorkshire. The page is signed J. H. Watmough and dated 10.10.11. A handwritten annotation above the photograph identifies a pupil as PARKER LILY SCHOOL. The album contains additional internal pages with age-related toning and foxing.


Condition report:

The external cloth cover exhibits significant staining and dark discoloration consistent with historic water exposure. There is notable fraying and wear to the edges and corners of the boards. Internal pages show age-related toning, foxing, and minor handling marks. The binding remains secure.
