Lot 631: A Reclaimed Victorian Buff Terracotta Vented Chimney Pot
A tall, cylindrical reclaimed chimney pot constructed from buff-coloured terracotta or fireclay. The design features a distinctive central section with vertical ribs forming deep, recessed rectangular panels or louvres. The pot is finished with a tapering conical top and a flared base accented by three concentric rings. This decorative architectural form is characteristic of late 19th or early 20th-century British manufacture. No maker’s marks or inscriptions are visible on the exterior surface.

The chimney pot is in a heavily weathered condition consistent with long-term outdoor exposure. There is significant moss and lichen growth across the surface, particularly concentrated on the ridges and the upper section. General surface wear, minor pitting, and small chips to the edges are present, though the item appears structurally sound with no large cracks visible.
