Lot 400: A Collection of Decorative Metalware Picture Frames and Miscellaneous Items
An assortment of decorative metalware and miscellaneous items. The collection features a large, ornate silver-toned metal picture frame decorated with embossed foliate and floral scrollwork, featuring a laurel wreath motif at the top right in the Late Victorian style. Included is a second, smaller rectangular silver-toned metal frame with a raised beaded border and a decorative circular boss to one side. The lot also contains a black moulded composite base with an integrated handle, a cylindrical container with a textured metallic screw-cap, and a fragment of a yellow cardboard box featuring vintage-style illustrations. A small white adhesive label with the numeral 6 and a small orange adhesive label with the handwritten characters 400 are present on the items. No maker’s marks or hallmarks are visible on the metal components.
Condition report:
The items are in used, as-found condition. Both metal frames show visible surface wear, scratching, and moderate tarnishing consistent with age. Glass is absent from both frames. The black composite base shows surface dust and minor scuffing. The other miscellaneous items exhibit signs of age and handling.
