Lot 382: Pelham Puppets Clown Marionette in Original Window Box
A vintage Pelham Puppets clown marionette featuring a painted composite or wooden head with large blue eyes and a smiling expression. The puppet is finished with vibrant blue synthetic hair and a red felt hat. It is dressed in a colourful costume of green fabric embellished with gold-braid detailing. The marionette is operated by a manual string mechanism attached to a standard wooden crossbar control. The item is housed in its original yellow cardboard window box with protective white tissue paper. The box displays the manufacturer logo at the centre, featuring the word Pelham inside a red balloon-shaped graphic and the word Puppets in multi-coloured patterned block letters. An orange rectangular label with the handwritten number 382 is present on the lower right of the box.
Condition report:
The puppet remains in good condition with bright, well-preserved facial paint and a complete costume. The control strings are present though currently tangled within the packaging. The original box shows moderate signs of age and shelf wear, including noticeable creasing and edge wear to the cardboard, particularly at the upper left corner. There is light overall soiling to the box and scuffing to the clear plastic window.
