Start price: £2

Buyer's Premium:

A collection of vintage Airfix HO-OO scale model kits and accessories, accompanied by a decorative tinplate perpetual calendar and a novelty box. The Airfix items include a large format Wagon Train (Ref. 46) kit in a blue and white box, a Foreign Legion kit, and a Union Infantry set. Also included are multiple small-format yellow series boxes for a 155mm Self-Propelled Gun, a Troop Carrier, a Field Gun & Tractor, and several 6×6 Trucks. Three of these small boxes bear period handwritten inscriptions in black ink: Marines, S.A., and Japanese. A quantity of loose unpainted blue plastic infantry figures and two gold-toned figures are contained within a cardboard tray. The perpetual calendar tin features an arched top and is decorated with Chinoiserie-style motifs of birds and cherry blossoms in gold and polychrome enamels against a red ground, bordered by a Greek key pattern. The front includes two apertures displaying the month and day. The lot further comprises a brightly coloured cardboard box featuring a multi-coloured illustration of a crocodile or dragon with a yellow bird. The items are housed within a red plastic tray and a larger cardboard box marked Côte d’Ivoire.

Condition report:

The Airfix boxes show varying degrees of wear consistent with age, including creasing, corner scuffing, and some crushing, most notably to the Troop Carrier box. The Wagon Train box is open and completeness of all kit contents remains unverified. The loose figures appear unpainted and are in good order. The tinplate calendar exhibits surface wear throughout, with visible scratches, small areas of paint loss, and general oxidation to the exposed metal edges. The novelty cardboard box shows minor shelf wear.
