A collection of ceramic and glass items featuring several Royal commemorative decanters manufactured by Wade for Bell’s Scotch Whisky. The group includes a white ceramic decanter commemorating the birth of Prince William of Wales in 1982, housed in its original printed cardboard presentation box. A second white ceramic decanter also commemorates the birth of Prince William of Wales. A third white ceramic decanter commemorates the 60th birthday of Queen Elizabeth II in 1986, featuring a central portrait within a gilded crest and the inscription To Commemorate the 60th Birthday of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II April 1986. The lot also includes a Gilbey’s ceramic decanter of flask form, decorated with a blue transfer-printed sailing ship, and a white ceramic shaving scuttle featuring a colour illustration of a steam traction engine and a perforated top. Several miniature brown glass spirit bottles with screw caps are present.
Condition report:
The ceramic items appear to be in good overall condition with no visible chips, cracks, or restoration. The gilding on the Bell\'s decanters is largely well-preserved. The original cardboard box for the 1982 Prince William decanter shows typical shelf wear, including scuffing and creasing to the edges and corners. Fill levels for the decanters are not verified; items are offered as ceramic collectibles. Orange adhesive labels are adhered to the shaving scuttle and the Gilbey\'s decanter.
