Lot 323: A Set of Four Framed Graphite Drawings of Topographical Street Scenes
A set of four framed graphite drawings on light cream wove paper. Each work depicts a detailed topographical street scene in a refined realist style, characterised by fine line work and delicate tonal shading. The compositions feature mature trees, architectural facades, and small figures. The works are professionally presented in matching dark stained hardwood frames with thin gilt-finish inner slips and sage green mounts behind glass. Small white rectangular stickers are present on the glass of each frame, marked 12 and 12 12. The set is contained within a cardboard box printed with PRODUCT OF COTE D’IVOIRE and the numbers 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9, alongside an orange sticker marked 223. European School, 20th Century.
Condition report:
The drawings appear to be in excellent condition with no visible signs of foxing, toning, or staining to the paper. The frames are in good overall condition with only minor surface scuffs and dust accumulation consistent with storage.
