A collection of framed artworks featuring a central impressionistic depiction of a Venetian canal scene. The primary work is executed in oil or gouache on paper or board and portrays historic buildings lining a waterway with a gondola and figures in the foreground, set beneath a pale sky with a bridge visible in the distance. This piece is housed within a cream-coloured mount and a gilt-wood frame with a dark green fillet, set behind glass. The collection further includes several other framed pieces, one of which features a distinctive dark, textured basketweave-patterned frame with a gilded inner edge. Two orange adhesive labels bearing the number ‘322’ are affixed to the glass and frames.
Condition report:
The frames show minor surface wear, light abrasions, and small chips to the gilded finish consistent with age and handling. The primary Venetian scene appears to be in good overall condition behind glass with no visible signs of foxing, fading, or damage to the support.
