Lot 185a: Two Wear-Ever Mid-Century Aluminium Kitchenware Items

Live auction will start in __ days and __ hours

Start price: £2

Buyer's Premium:

A pair of vintage kitchen vessels manufactured by Wear-Ever, constructed from spun aluminium with black Bakelite fittings. The first item is a two-tiered double boiler consisting of a lower saucepan and an upper steaming insert, both with elongated black plastic handles and a matching lidded top. The top tier retains a black oval manufacturer label. The second item is a traditional-style tea kettle, featuring a fixed arched handle with a finger-moulded black plastic grip, a short pouring spout, and a removable lid with a black plastic knob. The kettle design is consistent with Wear-Ever model 3052.

Condition report:

Both items exhibit signs of extensive domestic use. The aluminium surfaces show widespread scratching, scuffing, and pitting, along with areas of oxidation and darkening characteristic of aged metal. Small orange adhesive price stickers are attached to the double boiler lid and the kettle handle. There is a visible patch of adhesive residue on the lower exterior of the kettle. Both pieces are functionally complete with original handles and lids firmly attached.
