Lot 109: A Trio of Relief-Moulded Ceramic Vases
A trio of decorative relief-moulded earthenware vases. The collection comprises one large ornate twin-handled vase and a pair of graduated cylindrical vases. The large vase is finished in a uniform cream glaze and features high-relief decoration to the front, including three roses at the neck and two winged cherub heads. The lower body is embellished with scrolling foliate and acanthus leaf patterns, and the vessel is completed by a flared, scalloped rim and two high-arched handles. The pair of graduated cylindrical vases feature a vertical linear texture to the body imitating tree bark, decorated with relief-moulded maple leaves hand-coloured in yellow, amber, and dark brown autumnal glazes. These vases sit on contrasting dark brown glazed circular feet. All three items bear hand-written white labels numbered 14 and orange price labels numbered 109. No maker marks are visible.
Condition report:
The vases appear to be in good overall condition. No significant chips, cracks, or repairs are visible to the delicate relief-moulded elements or the main bodies. There is some minor surface dust and adhesive residue from labels present.
